
- Course Objectives
After completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply the principles of controlled envorionmants to a wide
variety of interiorscape sites.
- Compare and contrast the relative merits and problems associated
with the numerous types of plants and be able to select the proper
type lighting and soils for their particular needs.
- Design the specifications for installation.
- Understand the day to day operations and management of of
interiorscape, including: substrate selection and preparation;
pasteurization of substrates; general greenhouse sanitation;
principles and methods of irrigation and fertilization; enrichment
of the atmosphere with carbon dioxide; irradiance, photoperiod,
and temperature regulation; and chemical regulation of plant
growth, as well as pruning, plant replacement and cost analysis
factors.
- Seek and analyze alternatives and their costs for each aspect
of establishing and maintaining an interiorscape installation.
